Thiamine is a vitamin that vital for the human body. Indications: thiamine is used for the prevention and treatment of conditions associated with vitamin B1 deficiency such as beri-beri, Wernicke’s encephalopathy. Its other purpose is for the treatment of alcoholism, burns, gastrectomy, diseases of the small intestine, cirrhosis and impaired liver function, hyperthyroidism, severe infectious diseases. Contraindications: not to be taken by people with hypersensitivity to thiamine or any of its ingredients. Adverse drug reactions: urticaria, skin rashes, itching, general weakness, nausea, hot flashes, increased sweating. Pharmacodynamics: thiamine is involved in carbohydrate metabolism, protein and nucleic acid synthesis.
